Break Out Group and Caucus App:
You can apply to lead a conversation around either an identity you have or and Interest you’d like to find community around. These can be held at any point in the weekend. There is no deadline. We cannot guarantee a room with chairs but you may use any public space on campus.
Identity Caucuses also can be created and facilitated by anyone. They are intentional spaces for discussion around shared experiences/concerns related to identity. Caucuses are identity-based including race, nationality, gender, class, or any other identity that is important to the facilitator and participants. It is typically for those holding marginalized identities to find community but this convergence will be open to applicants wishing to facilitate a dialogue with allies. We will have two tracks to attempt to facilitate more meaningful dialogues since we recognize that we all hold multiple identities. Not every caucus will neatly fit in either track.
Examples Include:
Gender/Sex/Sexuality Track: Trans*, Womyn of Color, Male Ally, Queer, Bisexual/Fluid, Asexual
Race/Ethnicity/Nationality/Culture/Heritage/Class Track: Men of Color, Mixed Heritage, Working Class, Native/Indigenous, QPOC (Queer People of Color) etc.
Issue Based Break Out Groups can be created weekend of or planned in advance. They can be a great opportunity for folks interested in the same things to hold space together. The style is different from a workshop because its less formal, it is mostly just a conversation with folks who share values/interests.
Some examples include:
Fossil Free, Urban Farming, NorCal Region, Prison Reform, Student Government.
Notice*
Unfortunately, we will not be holding Exhibitors Booth at this years Fall Convergence at UC Davis.
The high chance of rain posed too many difficulties for the planning team. We decided that if it did rain, organizations would not benefit from participating in the Exhibitors Booth event because the students would not have access to opportunities presented.
We are also very excited by possible partnerships in the future with organizations what we are in contact with and hope to work with them to create an Exhibitors Booth later this year at UC Davis.

Hello,
How much will the convergence cost? And will there be any scholarships?
I am trying to organize a group of students and fundraise, and we are trying to set a budget.
Early Bird Registration costs (due by OCT 20) 25 dollars and Regular registration is 30 dollars .There are scholarships available through as part of the registration link.
Their information can be found at http://cldc.org/about/board-of-directors/
I am very excited for this fall’s convergence in Davis. This will be my 4th. If you all are still looking for a keynote speaker, I know of 2 representatives of CLDC (civil liberties defense center) based out of Eugene, OR that would likely be very interested and ideal for this semester’s theme. I am currently collaborating with Lauren Regan, Founder and Executive Director of CLDC with the CLDC HSU chapter up here in Humboldt. Please let me know if you have any interest in bringing her and possibly Kerul Dyer (both board members of CLDC) to speak about justice at Davis. Their Information can be found at
Thanks for contacting us. I will pass on your information to our convergence coordinator, Kevin Gong, and he will be able to let you know more information on our convergence and who we want as keynote speakers. Feel free to e-mail him at [email protected]
I am interested in learning more about the convergence in Nov. i heard it was the 14-16.
I am representing a Climate Crisis Speaker, Guy McPherson,
he lives in New Mexico, but as fate would have it, he will be in the Chico Area that weekend and available to speak and or do a workshop at your event. Please keep me posted on the details.
Peter
