At times, being a student of color involved in the sustainability movement can be physically, socially, and culturally alienating; to address this, CSSC has created Students of Color (SOC) conference calls.
The purpose of these calls is to unite students of color who are CSSC members and who identify with being involved in the sustainability movement. We will discuss our cultural and ethnic identities, how to have our communities represented in sustainability, our experiences, and how to create a sustainability movement welcoming for all students of color. These calls are predominantly for students of color, but there will be opportunities for allies to participate. Calls will take place once a month, call dates and times will be determined by participants overall availability.
More than ever, organizers, community leaders, artists, and athletes need to come to together and address the systematic problems facing our communities and our society. We hope these calls will create a safe space for the discussions needed in order for us to solve the economic, social, and environmental problems faced by all communities.
If you would like to participate, please fill out the information below and you will be sent information on futures calls.
