October 15, Los Angeles, CA - The CSSC Southern California networking potluck was a success! 25 students and recent alumni representing 6 universities showed up to share delicious food and network with fellow sustainability leaders at their campuses. Over a candle lit dinner students and recent alumni shared what they are working on and their strategy for making a difference in the world.
Todd Diaz from University of Southern California, founder of Burrito Project, a project where bicycling advocates gather every Wednesday night to make hundreds of burritos and hand them out to homeless in downtown Los Angeles via bicycle, shared his strategy for making a difference, “It’s about being the change, working together and taking care of one another.”
Several students from UC Irvine and UCLA united efforts in their responsible endowment campaigns. While other students connected with a Sierra Club organizer who is running a “Coal free LA campaign”. All and all the night was a success.
