About Me
I’ve never been able to narrow my interests, making the realm of sustainability a perfect fit for me as it’s complexities include relations of nearly all facets of our world. Ideally, I’d live through a genuine internalization of respect for other people and our Earth…but that’s a work in progress. One day I hope that you’ll find me in an African country implementing culturally-specific solutions, supporting sustainable development. Until then, I get away from the pavement of LA whenever I can to hike. I love dogs, reading, composting, traveling, long walks in the mountains, the CSSC and friends.
How I Got Involved In CSSC
I was first introduced to the CSSC through E3-Ecology,Economy,Equity the student organization on my campus and found a community of passionate and active students that I wanted to be a part of.
The Area of Sustainability That Interests Me Most
Personal impact on society and Earth through choices, such as diet and consumer purchases. Institutional impact through investments.
The Role of Student Action in Sustainability
Students are generally, I think, idealists. I believe idealism can materialize in progressive and strong action.
Sustainability Projects I’ve Worked On
- researching food waste disposal in public spaces on campus, sustainable food choices, and waste minimization in on-campus dining for ESLP
- Fair Trade Coffee Campaign
- Project Greenlight
- Gardens & Schools Program
- compiling STARS (Sustainability, Tracking, Assessment & Rating System) report
