About Me
My roots in sustainability grounded themselves from a young age. Hiking and backpacking, gardening, cooking, canning, and re-using items for new purposes are some of my favorite hobbies. The redwood forests of Redway make me feel at home. I live in Davis and attend UC Davis. I hope to go to graduate school and plan for a life in bio-fuels and bio-plastics.
How I Got Involved In CSSC
I applied for a women’s honors society on campus and was rejected because I wasn’t involved enough. I fell in love with the CSSC and haven’t bothered to apply again in subsequent years.
The Area of Sustainability That Interests Me Most
Moving beyond waste reduction and into a world with no waste.
The Role of Student Action in Sustainability
I believe that students are the least jaded members of our society. If given tools like ESLP and access to empowering ideas like TGIF and Real Foods Challenge, student will stand up to low standards and few expectations. Because our educational systems still encourages us to think critically, and we haven’t been beat down by mundane careers, we strive for our ideals everyday.
Sustainability Projects I’ve Worked On
- Planning the UC Davis ESLP
- Coordinator of the TGIF campaign
- Currently, I’m working on an Art and Recycling project and an Environmental Justice musical event.
