About Me
I am loving my past two years out here in California working on my Master’s degree. Before this, I was living and working in Asia for several years, after I’d graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in English Literature and a minor in Asian Studies. I love the work I do with Cal Poly Pomona’s Green Team and with the CSSC; hiking and camping; and gardening and cooking with my friends and family.
How I Got Involved In CSSC
I got involved in the CSSC through another member of my local campus chapter. We wanted to learn more about what other schools were doing and to share what we had learned along the way. We’re so glad we did!
The Area of Sustainability That Interests Me Most
Coalition building
The Role of Student Action in Sustainability
Students are oftentimes the most eager sect at the university to implement real change when it comes to sustainability. They are eager learners, hardworking, and extremely dedicated.
Sustainability Projects I’ve Worked On
- Garden to Table: A summer-long workshop series for the Cal Poly Pomona campus and community residents to practice organic gardening methods and low-impact cooking.
- 2009-2010 Sustainability Film Series: A joint partnership between several different student organizations on campus, this series brought together the campus community to share in a film and discussion on sustainability several times a quarter.
