We are THRILLED to announce the launch of Students for Energy Justice! SEJ is a student movement under California Student Sustainability Coalition building power to resist oil, replace extreme energy with renewable solutions, and address climate change.
Students for Energy Justice (SEJ) is a California student movement building power to resist oil, replace extreme energy with renewable solutions, and address climate change. SEJ will act as a resource and support hub for students carrying out campaigns around issues specific to their communities – for example, addressing urban drilling in the greater Los Angeles area or oil trains in San Luis Obispo County. FOs will provide support to several of these highly localized campaigns.
The SEJ movement grew out of the statewide Students Against Fracking coalition, but it is broader in scope. SEJ supports students to organize for positive change, including renewable solutions and social justice, not simply against one form of oil extraction.
CSSC’s mission is to unite and empower California’s community of higher education to collaboratively and nonviolently transform ourselves and our institutions based on our inherent social, economic, and ecological responsibilities. CSSC supports campaigns on college campuses across the state, including the Fossil Free campaign to divest university funds from fossil fuels.
We need YOU to tackle climate change hands-on and create energy justice on your campus and in your community. Connect with us on our website, Facebook, and Twitter, and join the campaign here right now!
