World Centric Funds Zero-Waste Pilot Program
The California Student Sustainability Coalition (CSSC) will be providing several campus projects an average of $1,000 this year. World Centric has made this possible and CSSC is excited about this mini-grant program to support students with campus-wide efforts that will seed zero-waste project development across California. World Centric is a socially responsible company that provides zero waste solutions to reduce environmental impact. Their vision is a just and sustainable world, where humans live simply and tread lightly and this partnership aligns with the mission of CSSC. Projects may include, but are not limited to: recycled art installations, upcycled textile program, alternative waste management systems, composting and dining ware, graywater systems, gleaning and food harvesting, and more. Students are encouraged to partner with campus and community partners to partially or fully fund new or existing projects and programs. CSSC will launch the application process this November 2014 on our website: sustainabilitycoalition.org and host a supportive workshop on “Grant Applying, Project Creation, and Introduction to Zero-Waste Mini-Grant Program” at this year’s Fall Convergence in UC Davis November 15th, Saturday. Check back on sustainabilitycoalition.org for workshop and grant details.
